Windrose GIS Consulting is owned by Jordan Brod and based out of Corinth Texas. While based in the Dallas / Fort Worth area we are happy to serve anyone in the United States. Jordan Brod attended Texas A&M University prior to transferring to the University of North Texas. He graduated in 2008 with a B.S. in Geography with a GIS Certificate. Since that time he has worked both in the private and public sectors in various GIS roles. During one job with a local government he discovered Free and Open Source Software for Geospatial as a solution to a specific problem and became hooked on its potential. Since that time he has taken courses offered by the GeoAcademy through Del Mar College, has become a volunteer mapper for the OpenStreetMap project, volunteered mapping for the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team, and has continued learning more about the software and development in FOSS4G. An early client was a Fortune 500 company that looked to both Open Source and consulting as a way to obtain results quickly and inexpensively. Windrose GIS Consulting looks to continue to spread the value of FOSS4G as well as strive to break into new avenues within the Geospatial arena.
